Currently, our English 10 students are reading one of the greatest memoirs of the 20th century (at least in my humble--albeit correct--opinion), Tuesdays With Morrie. In the story, we get a chance to read about all manner of incredible life-lessons about life, love, money, culture, forgiveness, family and emotions. Granted, the story took place more than 20 years ago (there is a car phone reference...but it's the big brick phone our students are oblivious of), but its applications are just as relevant today as they were in the '90s. Truly a timeless classic.
The students have been asked to put up important aphorisms, quotes and ideas on our chalk-cupboards as we read to have a visual of important concepts they've learned...and the results do not disappoint! I'm looking forward to what else goes up in these next two weeks!
